These keto falafel are perfect in a low carb tortilla or on a salad!

This keto falafel is sooo flavorful and yummy!

falafel

  • avocado oil frying (325 degrees)

  • 1/2 large white onion

  • 3 tablespoons of fresh parsley

  • 3 tablespoons fresh cilantro

  • 1 cup hemp hearts

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1.5 teaspoons cumin

  • 1 teaspoon flax seed meal with 2 teaspoons water (or you could use 2 tablespoons egg whites)

tzatziki sauce

1 cup full fat greek yogurt

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 medium peeled and grated cucumber

1/4 cup chopped fresh dill

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Directions:

  • Add your onion, parsley, cilantro, hemp hearts spices, and flax/water mixture into the food processor and process until the mixture can be pinched together.

  • Heat your oil to 325 degrees

  • Form your falafel out of the mixture, we made 8 but you can make them bigger or smaller as you see fit

  • Fry them for about a minute making sure they brown evenly on all sides. Once they are brown they are done, these dont take long to cook!

  • For the sauce add everything to a bowl and mix it together. Thats it! :)

  • Carb count: Each falafel has 1 net carb. Total carbs is about 3 per falalfel.
